The aerodrome is open for use by general air traffic except that no instructional or practice flights are allowed and aircraft with engine of 200 hp or more are not allowed to use the aerodrome except in emergency.
Due to the proximity of the Reykjavik Control Zone, pilots are advised that before flying into BIRK CTR a FPL shall be submitted with the flight data specialists tel. +354 424 4240 or e-mail to [email protected] (see ENR 1.10 and ENR 1.11) and a clearance to enter BIRK CTR must be obtained from BIRK TWR.
